The skin of yesterday

The metamorphosis which takes place when you shed the bygones to discover a lighter and liberated you. Sometimes we don’t realise that holding onto the past is making it difficult for us to live in our present.

It felt so heavy wearing the shroud of bygones

the weight pulled down on the glorious days

creating ripples of regrets in the watery eyes

the silvery twilight brought along the darkest greys

her invigorating aura reflected on the embedded scars

feeling emancipated, it was time to evolve

through the layers

she began by peeling away the skin of yesterday

healing her core through magical prayers

what she gained made her face the toughest times

building bridges, looking beyond the fine lines

It is pretty tough to practice the aforementioned when life is giving you experiences which weigh you down. But once you are through with this effort, you will start counting your blessings.

God bless all of us with the strength and courage to overcome the rough patches🙏

I have learnt to be in a happy space since I started penning down my perspective as a poet and a writer.
