When death ate the life out of her

why couldn’t I understand?

You stood right there
a dream come true

I hurried up to your silhouette
it was a mirage reflecting my mind

On this busy, bustling street
We used to walk together here
sharing nuances of our day

I still try to find you here,
your apparition embedded in my eyes
You were my past, present, and future
And now it is just a lucid bygone

you were a perfect mix of composure
kindness reflecting in your eyes
a fairy adorned with those powers of
making everyone happy around her

then came the grey clouds
eating up all your sunshine

it is hard to believe that you had to give up
and all my ideologies shattered
there is no point in keeping everyone happy
at the cost of your wishes or desires
it does take a toll one day
when you have played your best part
and the act does not end as contemplated

I am here, stripped of your love
unable to accept your absence
giving up on unraveling the maze
of life and death, praying for your closure
EVERYDAY

I believe you may have left bewildered
in the disoriented state of mental illness
still, I reminisce you with your optimism
in my continuing happy life, an ode
to the charisma of your positive guidance

there is a heaven away from home
where your soul has found solace
and we wait for that moment
until we meet again
